P.E in school

I have asked Mr Lowe and Miss Dollery to write todays bog as they are in charge of P.E at school.

Hello Children,

Thank you for all your replies to the last PE blog. You should see a range of different sports on offer at St Patricks next year.

This time I would like to ask you the following questions:

  1. Who/what inspires you to play sport? (Think about teachers, Sports Stars, Coaches)

  2. Are there any children which play for clubs/teams out of school? If so, which ones?

  3. What is your class/unit planning to do during our healthy life styles week?

Good luck in your races this week, remember its about trying your best and taking part.

Mr Lowe and Miss Dollery

I have asked Mrs Howarth to write todays bog as she is in charge of Computing at school.

Hello Children,

I would like to know if there is anything else that you would like from your school council?

At the moment, your class representatives attend a meeting every two weeks and will feed back any important information to you. The minutes (notes) from the meetings are displayed in the hall and on the school website. Are there any other ways that you would like us to report this?

If you have a suggestion/ message/ charity that you'd like the school council to consider, what do you think would be the best way for you to do this?

Thank you for all your help.

Music questions

Good morning children

Thank you for all your blog replies.Well done to Year 2 who have filled their marble jars decide what you would like your treat to be and we can organise it for Friday afternoon.

This week I have asked Miss Mawdsley to write a blog asking you all about her subject music.

Hello children,

A few months ago, I asked you some questions about Music in school. I have read all your fabulous comments and it is clear that all year groups were looking forward to the Christmas performance because you could showcase your singing abilities. I have to say that the Christmas singing was spectacular and I, along with all the other teachers and staff, loved watching you all shine on stage. Some children said they loved to practise and learn different notes with instruments, such as flutes and clarinets. You will all have the opportunity to hear the wider music children play their instruments when they perform at the end of year.

Whilst on the subject of music, I would like to ask you a few more questions.

  • Where do we hear music every day?
  • Why is it special to us?

Try to think of how music can make you feel and how it can change your perspective on things that have happened in our school and around the world.

I will look forward to hearing your responses,

Miss Mawdsley.

This week I have asked Miss Calderbank who helps to lead our science subject in school to ask you all about science.

Hello everyone,

First of all I would like to thank you all for sharing lots of information with me about your science topics that you have covered so far this year. It has been lovely to hear about all the interesting things you have learnt such as; electricity, Materials, the solar system and rocks and soils.

I would like you to answer the following questions:

1) Why do you think it is important to learn about science and all of its wonders?

2) Can you give me an example of when you have applied your learning from science to an every day experience? How has your science lessons helped you in real life?

Have a lovely week,

Miss Calderbank
